Kanayo Kanayo shares useful message to Nollywood hurrying to YouTube

Anayo Modestus Onyekwere, better known personality in the Nigerian film industry, commonly referred to as Kanayo Kanayo, has delivered a useful message to filmmakers in Nollywood who turn to the popular streaming platform, YouTube.

Kanayo Kanayo has criticized his fellow colleagues who are compromising the integrity of the movie industry by producing low-quality content solely for the purpose of earning money on the platform.

The veteran actor has also expressed his disapproval towards individuals who lack the necessary knowledge and expertise in filmmaking, yet still create profitable video channels on YouTube, only to neglect their fellow filmmakers. He believes that these actions are undermining the core principles of the industry.

Kanayo advised them to collaborate despite the platform’s ability to accommodate all talents. He cautioned about the uncertain future of YouTube in Nigeria, suggesting it may be prohibited.

Recently, Kanayo Kanayo shared valuable advice on his social media regarding the Nollywood industry.

He encouraged filmmakers to avoid the common portrayal of wealthy characters in traditional attire and instead dress them in more comfortable outfits.

He also observed that women wear elaborate costumes when portraying regular nighttime or cooking scenes.

The actor also said his sacrifices in movies, which have now become popular social media memes.

In a brief video of his conversation with Chude Jideonwo, Kanayo Kanayo revealed that he does not participate in any sacrifices and that his only focus is on Jesus.

The esteemed Nollywood actor, known for his talent and reputation, stated that he will continue to make sacrifices if they bring financial benefits.
