Kano gov swears in seven new commissioners, six perm secs

The Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, on Monday, swore in seven new commissioners and six permanent secretaries as part of his administration’s renewed efforts to ensure good governance in the state.

Similarly, Governor Yusuf swore in 13 special advisers during a ceremony held at the Government House, which was attended by numerous dignitaries and NNPP supporters.

The newly appointed commissioners include Ibrahim Wayya (Information), Shehu Wada Sagagi (Investment, Commerce and Industry), Dahiru Muhammad Hashim (Environment), and Ismail Aliyu Danmaraya (Finance).

Others are Gaddafi Shehu (Power and Sustainable Energy), Abdulkadir Abdulsalam (Rural and Community Development), and Nura Iro Maaji (Public Procurement).

The governor urged the new commissioners to remain dedicated and committed to their duties.

Your appointments were made after careful selection of capable individuals who can contribute to our efforts in achieving good governance in the state.

“Our administration will continue to prioritise infrastructure, education, health, women and youth empowerment, water supply, and enhanced agriculture,” he said.

The governor also commended the State House of Assembly for its cooperation and dedication to the state’s development.

Responding on behalf of the appointees, the Commissioner for Investment, Commerce and Industry, Shehu Wada Sagagi, expressed gratitude to the governor for the confidence placed in them.

Sagagi assured the governor that they would work tirelessly to justify the trust reposed in them.
