Kano govt moves to expedite issuance of building permits

Ibrahim Yakub, the managing director of the Kano State Urban Planning and Development Authority (KNUPDA), has opened a “one-stop shop” to expedite the issue of building permits and approvals.

Ibrahim said at the unit’s opening yesterday in Kano at the KNUPDA Conference Hall that the unit was established to expedite the agency’s approval process in response to multiple public complaints regarding needless delays in the formalization of building approval and permit.

According to the managing director, the unit will be working immediately and directly to address any problem submitted to KNUPDA.

Given the significance of the assignment, he exhorted the team to work relentlessly and commended the personnel for being chosen solely on the basis of merit.

In carrying out their responsibilities, the unit’s leader, Bilkisu Muhammad, pledged to put in a lot of effort to have a beneficial influence.

Muhammad leads the 15-person team, and Sagir Sani serves as secretary.
