Katsina gov reshuffles cabinet

The Executive Governor of Katsina State, Dikko Umaru Radda, has announced a minor reshuffle of the State Executive Council.

The announcement came barely a few hours into his one-month vacation billed to start from July 18 to August 18, 2024.

A statement signed by Ibrahim Mohammed, the governor’s Chief Press Secretary, indicated that, “This strategic reorganisation aims to optimise the performance of the state government and ensure the effective delivery of services to the people of Katsina State.”

The commissioners and their new portfolios are Dr. Bashir Saulawa (Ministry of Water Resources), Hadiza Yar’Adua (Ministry of Women Affairs), Zainab Musawa (Ministry of Education), and Hamza Faskari (Ministry of Environment).

Others are Isa Musa (Ministry of Higher, Technical and Vocational Education), Yusuf Jirdede (Ministry of Special Duties), Prof. Abdulhamid Mani (Ministry of Rural and Social Development), and Musa Funtua (Ministry of Health).

The governor directed that all affected commissioners should hand over their current responsibilities to the Permanent Secretaries of their respective ministries with immediate effect.

“They are to assume their new roles without delay to ensure continuity in government operations,” the statement added.
