She studied at the University of Cape Town where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Law and Politics.
She also received the Jules Kramar award for Fine Arts. She earned a Master of Fine Arts in Theatre Arts at Columbia University in 2004. She worked and lived in the US and UK till 2008.
