Kidnap of Ortom’s ex-CoS wife barbaric, says Alia

On Sunday the Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia,  gave a notice to the security agencies of the state to secure  criminal elements disturbing the peace of the state are singled out and brought to book.

He gave this notice after the attack  of the gunmen on Terwase Orbunde, the Chief of Staff to the immediate past governor, Samuel Ortom.

It was said that this gunmen kidnapped Orbunde’s wife, Abigail, and house help, Patience Ogute requesting for N100million ransom else they would kill the women.

The governor reacted in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Kula Tersoo, stating that “I am shocked and dismayed by this barbaric act.”

He further said the incident will require all hands to be on deck to secure Benue State.

He added that his commitment is to provide the necessary support for the security agencies to secure the state from criminals.

He said, “I have said this and I must keep saying it, security is and should be everyone’s concern. Law enforcement agencies and the government need.

“Make it a culture that anytime you see something, you say something.”

However he ensure all Benue residents that security was his top priority in his administration and that matters of insecurity would soon be a thing of the past.
