Racheal Iku, sister of the late Rebecca Ikumelo, who died last year at the Asake London concert is upset by the artist’s tribute in recent London concert.
Asake who has been trending for shutting down the O2 arena, started the concert by paying a tribute to the two ladies who lost their lives last year following some circumstances at his London show that was canceled.
The video showed, photos of the late mother of two Rebecca Ikumelo and Gabrielle Hutchinson, a security detail, with an emotional tribute which got the crowd emotional and a minute of silence was held for the departed souls.
However, Rachel Ikumelo isn’t pleased by this, as she took to micro-blogging platform X formerly known as Twitter to air her mind.
Rachel stated that the singer has not reached out to them since the incident, she also questioned the singer for using her sister’s pictures without taking permission and he was holding another concert barely nine months after the incident.
“What a sorry excuse of a “tribute” from @asakemusik. My sister lost her life at your show and you haven’t spoken to a single member of my family since. But you can hold another concert in London less than 9 months later and play their videos as a “tribute”?
RIP Rebecca Ikumelo”
“RIP my sister Rebecca Ikumelo and also to Gaby Hutchinson”.
“Are you actually ok? Asake has not spoken to my family or I since the initial message exchanged when my sister passed away”, she tweeted.
Recall that it was reported that two ladies who sustained injuries during a stamped during Asake’s concert in December last year had died.
Asake had to cancel the concert and later released a condolences message sending his love to their family and loved ones.
