The Education Group from the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and it’s Industry commenced a meeting to discourse about the growing differences between the school curricula and industry needs in Africa, especially in Nigeria.
A statement made available to the public on Tuesday, stated that the African International Education Conference had the theme ‘Innovation, inclusion, collaboration for sustainable education.
Mrs Sokia Isibor, the CEO of POISE Nigeria, and Chairperson, of LCCI, Education Group, stated that the World Economic Forum presumed that at least 50 percent of the staffs would be retrained by 2025.
Members who attended the conference are; the Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, who was represented by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Development Services), University of Lagos, Prof. Ayodele Atsenuwa; Senior Education Specialist, World Bank Country Office, Dr Olatunde Adekola; President and Chairman of Council, LCCI, Mr Gabriel Idahosa; a former President of LCCI, Mrs Toki Mabogunje; Commissioner for Tertiary Education, Ministry of Education, Lagos State, Mr Tolani Sule, and others.
