Lekki tollgate should be free forever, we paid with our blood – Alex Ekubo

Nigerian actor, Alex Ebuko, has said that the Lekki tollgate should be free and renamed in memory of the lives lost on 20th October 2020.

To mark the second anniversary of the #EndSARS memorial, Alex announced this in a post on his Instagram page on Thursday, sharing a photo from the protest against police brutality.

He wrote, “Dear Nigerian Government, we will NEVER forget this day. 20 – 10 – 20, We will return the favour. The Labour of our heroes past shall never be in vain.

“I still maintain, Lekki Toll plaza should be renamed Lekki Memorial Way & remain toll free forever. We paid in full with our blood.”

Wakadaily earlier reports that “the police fired tear gas to disperse protesters at the Lekki toll gate. Protesters and civilians alike are currently fleeing the scene of the #EndSARSmemorial procession.

“Gunshots were also reportedly fired by the policemen present at the scene, while a journalist who works for Arise TV was also allegedly harassed.”
