Man assault pap seller over refusal to sell on credit

The Sharia Court sitting in the Kiru area of Kano state has remanded a man, identified as Jaafar Lukman in a correlational facility for assaulting a woman who refused to sell pap on credit to him.

The incident happened in Kano, the police told the court that the defendant(Jaafar Lukman)  went to the pap seller intending to purchase pap and beans cake (Akara) on credit, but the woman refused to sell to him, due to his previous debt.

The hungry and angry Jaafar kicked the woman’s beans cake, pap and oil use to fry the bean cake with his leg after his request was refused.

When his case was read in the court Jaafar Lukman pleaded guilty but stated that he did it because he was hungry and angry.

Following the defendant’s pleas of guilt, the Khadi, Usman Haruna Usman, adjourned the case to Monday, September 4, 2023, and Jaafar has been ordered to be remanded in the prison till then.
