Military coup won’t solve Nigeria’s problems – Fani-Kayode warns

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has knocked those advocating for military rule in the country, adding that it won’t solve Nigeria’s problems.

The chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC made this known on his X page (formerly known as Twitter) while reacting to some people calling for a coup d’etat.

Following the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal judgment that upheld the victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, some netizens made a case for military intervention Nigeria.

However, speaking on Monday, Fani-Kayode made it clear that military rule won’t solve various problems plaguing the country.

He said, “Simply put, we all need to be careful about what we say, and we must do nothing that will encourage or mislead others into charting a dangerous and violent course in Nigeria.

“The remedy to the challenges in our country cannot be to kill democracy by encouraging the military to take power or to throw out the baby with the bathwater, and treading such a damned path would be indicative of a curse”.
