The Slovakia National Scholarship Program application period for the academic year 2024–2025 has officially commenced, according to Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Education.
Support for Nigerian postgraduates interested in obtaining master’s and doctoral degrees in Slovakia is the goal of this program.
On Wednesday, April 3, 2024, the Ministry said on its official X page that the scholarship opportunity is a testament to the Nigerian government’s dedication to supporting its nationals’ overseas educational goals. The program, which is intended for students pursuing graduate degrees, claims to lessen financial strain by paying living expenses and offering reimbursement for travel.
“Qualified and interested Nigerians are encouraged to visit www.scholarships.sk for detailed information on eligibility criteria and scholarship benefits,” it stated.
The Ministry stated that applications must be submitted online by April 30, 2024, and that applicants can contact the Ministry at the number it has provided with any more questions.
Students from outside Slovakia who are enrolled in their second year of college (Master’s students) or who have completed at least 2.5 years of study in a comparable program and have been accepted into a higher education institution in Slovakia are eligible for the scholarship. PhD candidates are also eligible, as are foreign university instructors, researchers, and artists who intend to visit Slovakia for teaching, research, academic mobility, or artistic pursuits.
A curriculum vitae, motivation letter, comprehensive study plan, two letters of recommendation from university instructors, and, if applicable, a bachelor’s degree with diploma supplement and state examination certificate are required of all applicants.
The Slovak Republic’s government launched the Slovakia National Scholarship Program in 2005 with the goal of promoting student, researcher, and artist mobility. The Slovak Ministry of Education, Science, Research, and Sport is behind it, demonstrating the nation’s commitment to global intellectual and cultural interchange.
