Pastor Ituah Ighodalo of the Trinity House Church, Lagos, has revealed how one of his daughter warned him against remarrying.
The cleric lost his wife, Ibidun, on June 14, 2020. She had died of heart attack at age of 39, while working on COVID-19 isolation centres in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
Speaking in a recent interview with Arise TV, he said: “It is not possible to say I would never remarry, but if I had my way, I am okay. I am happy and my life is not complicated. I am looking after my children, and I am doing well. I might consider it when my children are older. My daughter has also warned me not to remarry (laughs).”
The man of God added that his children were not lacking of mother figures in their lives. He said, “I have been lucky. They (children) have about four women (as mother figures) in their lives. They include my mother in-law (their maternal grandmother), my brother’s wife, Ifeyinwa; my sister, Toluwalope; and Dami, who used to be Ibidun’s personal assistant. And, she has continued in that role.”
Asked by the interviewers if Dami was single, Ighodalo said, “She is single, but is like a daughter to me. She is a good friend’s child, and I practically brought her up.”
Speaking on how he had been coping with being a widower and wading off female attention, Pastor Ituah Ighodalo said, “I am coping well because I was a bachelor for a long time and I know the game. I am very clear in my thoughts, and I would not be in the same space with any woman just by myself. I am always either with my personal assistant, special assistant or chief of staff. Or, they (women) would come to my home, where there are maids around.”
