‘My parents thought they were expecting a boy’ – Bukunmi Oluwasina disclose as she marks birthday

Nollywood actress Bukunmi Oluwasina is marking her 34th birthday today and she has shared a story about how her parents mistakenly believed she was going to be a boy.

In a heartfelt post, she revealed that on the eve of her birth 34 years ago, her mother was in labor and heading to the hospital with a bag full of baby items and clothes for a boy, as she had been told she was expecting a son.

Her father was also making preparations for her naming ceremony, including plans to slaughter a cow, assuming he would have a son.

However, when she was born, it was a surprise to her parents that she was actually a girl.

Bukunmi emphasized that she has always been a private person, even from the time she was in her mother’s womb.

On her birthday, she also took a moment to mourn her late father, acknowledging that he would not be able to call her and wish her a happy birthday.

“So, on this day, many years ago, around this time, history has it that, my mum was already in labour. On her way to the hospital, with a bag filled with baby items and cloths she had bought for her incoming baby boy, as she has been told.

My dad was already making plans on how to arrange for the cow he would kill for naming. Man couldn’t wait to meet his first son.

Ladīes and gentlemen, I have been a joke from day one. O shock won bakan.

Feel free to say, na for inside belle I don dey live my private life.

Yeah, it’s few hours to my day.
Dad, I know you won’t be calling again tonight as usual.
I would have loved to however, just be saying amen to your past prayers from you, for my past birthdays in my head,
But all you have prayed for, for me then are already answered.

So, all I have got to say now, is
THANK YOU LORD.
For all that you have done that I know and the ones I do not”.

In a different post, she showed appreciation to her Creator for another year of blessings under the sun.

“Thankful for another year of Grace around the sun.

On today’s episode of our usual Annual Giveaway, WHAT CAN #100,000 DO FOR YOU OR YOUR BUSINESS???

A day prior to her birthday, Bukunmi received an unusual birthday present when she was reunited with her friend from Secondary school after being apart for 20 years.

In a lengthy post on her Instagram, she revealed that she had made a promise to her friend, but failed to keep it when she changed schools.

However, after two decades, they finally reunited, which left Bukunmi Oluwasina feeling emotional. She expressed that the reunion felt like an additional birthday gift.

Last year, Bukunmi had worried some of her fans when she surprised them with her dying wish.

The actress stated that when she becomes old and is nearing death, she hopes her final words will be that she left millions of dollars somewhere.

In other news, Bukunmi was included in the list of the top 100 most influential people in Africa, alongside esteemed colleagues such as Richard Mofe Damijo, Kunle Remi, and Kunle Afolayan.

The mother of one shared this news on her Instagram, where her excited fans and colleagues congratulated her on her success.
