‘My success isn’t measured by accolades’ – Funke Akindele speaks

Nigerian actress Funke Akindele has blast those who blasted her online and has spoken about her resilience in the film industry.

Recently, Akindele shared a message on her Instagram story and X app, emphasizing that she cannot be defined by any specific category.

As a mother of two boys, she discussed her experiences as an underdog in the industry and her determination to push the boundaries in Nigerian cinema.

Additionally, she encouraged her readers not to give up on their dreams, emphasizing that her success is not measured by awards, but rather by the stories she tells and the lives she impacts

“Being an underdog doesn’t define me, it fuels me. Despite all the challenges I face, I keep pushing boundaries in Nigerian cinema. My success isn’t measured by accolades but by the stories I tell and the lives I impact. Here’s to never giving up on your dreams, no matter the odds.”

Funke Akindele responded to Toyin Abraham’s public acknowledgement of their rivalry and congratulated her on her success in the film industry.

Toyin Abraham wrote an open letter addressing their personal and professional issues, attributing their feud to fan wars.

She also praised Funke Akindele for reaching the milestone of one billion in the cinema.

In response, Funke Akindele wished Toyin Abraham well. Additionally, Funke Akindele faced a minor scandal last month when she was slammed online by the brother of the late Jumoke Aderounmu regarding the actress’ involvement in her death.

Funke Akindele clarified her side of the story on Instagram Live, discussing her own personal struggles and attempts to rebuild her life after experiencing the loss of her mother, marriage, and involvement in politics all in the same year.
