DKT International Nigeria, a non-profit organization, recently educated the residents of Makoko community in Lagos State on the significance of family planning.

According to the NGO, family planning is the most effective way to enhance maternal health in Nigeria, and it is crucial to address the knowledge gap among women of reproductive age in low-income areas regarding modern contraceptives, particularly Intrauterine devices.

This outreach program was conducted in honor of the organization’s founder, Phil Harvey, a pioneering social entrepreneur who made contraception accessible to millions worldwide, empowering women to control their reproductive health and enhance their families’ well-being.

DKT Nigeria remains dedicated to realizing Harvey’s vision of a world where every child is cherished, cared for, and desired, and where contraceptive services and products are readily available to underserved communities.

During the outreach, community members received free medical checkups, consultations, and family planning services.

The NGO’s Hospital Sales and Clinical Service Team, led by Mrs. Faustina Ekundare, highlighted the benefits of family planning, including enabling individuals to have their desired number of children, leading to improved maternal health.

Clients who were willing to adopt a family planning method were also given free contraceptive services along with appropriate counselling from the knowledgeable DKT team.“

In addition to continuing to inform communities about the advantages of family planning and providing them with our full range of contraceptive services, we hope to carry out more outreach programmes and training initiatives in other underserved regions of the country to ensure that every provider is well-equipped with adequate training and family products.”

DKT Nigeria is a top provider of family planning solutions in Nigeria, offering a wide range of services and products to support individuals and communities in making informed reproductive health choices.

“DKT Nigeria provides couples with effective, safe, affordable, and quality family planning options through innovative campaigns, outreaches, and collaborations with both governmental and non-governmental organisations”, the statement Emphasized.
