Nigerian Army begins recruitment for non-tradesmen, women

The Nigerian Army has announced to begin of the recruitment application process for non-tradesmen and women.

This announcement was made by the Nigerian Army on it’s official X platform on Friday, adding that the application is free and starts from May 3 to May 4, 2024.

The post read, “This is to inform the general public & all interested applicants that online application for 87 Regular Recruits Intake for Non-Tradesmen & Women has commenced.

“Application starts from 3rd May – 7th June 2024.

“Application is free at http://recruitment.army.mil.ng. Shortlisted candidates will participate in the State Recruitment Screening Exercise scheduled from 20th June–3rd July 2024. Recruitment into the Nigerian Army Is FREE, Beware of Fraudsters.”

Below are the entry requirements as contained on the army flyer:

  • Applicants must be single, Nigerian citizens by birth, and must possess a National Identity Card or NIN slip.
  • Applicants must be medically, physically and psychologically fit following Nigerian Army standards.
  • Applicants must be free of any criminal conviction by the court of law.
  • All applicants must possess at least a minimum of 4 passes in not more than two sittings in WASCE/GCE/NECO/NABTEB.
  • In addition to the above qualification, those applying as Tradesmen/women must also possess TRADE TEST/CITY AND GUILD CERTIFICATE. Details are available on the website.
  • Applicants must possess a valid birth certificate endorsed by the National Population Commission, Hospital or Local Government Council, or age declaration.
  • An applicant must not be less than 18 years or more than 22 years for non-trades/men and women, while tradesmen and women must not be more than 26 years as of 30th June 2024.
  • Applicants must not be less than 1.68 metres and 1.65 metres tall for male and female candidates respectively.
  • Applicants must possess a valid certificate of state of origin.
  • Interested candidates are advised to log on to the Nigerian Army recruitment website https://recruitment.army.mil.ng to complete online registration from 3rd May to 7th June 2024.
