Nigerian Army handed over 223kg seized cannabis to Ogun State NDLEA

On Tuesday, the Nigeria Army, of 35 Artillery Brigade in Alamala Abeokuta, declared to have handed over 441 seized substance which was said to be like cannabis sativa, weighing 223kg to the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency of the Ogun state command.

Lt Mohammed Goni, the acting Assistant Director, Army Public Relations of the Brigade, revealed this in a statement sent to journalists on Tuesday.

The Director, stated that the army forces of the brigade on Friday, March 29, 2024, arrested a Mazda bus with number plate NRK 622 SB transporting the substance at Mologbede village in Odeda Local Government Area of the state.

He further said, that Brigadier General Mohammed Aminu, the Commander 35 Artillery Brigade, appreciated the soldiers for their effort, as he instructed them to continue to remain vigilant in their various locations.

The statement partly read, “The Commandant, NDLEA Ogun State Command, Commander of Narcotics Jane Ibiba Odili, in her remarks stated that she was highly excited over the synergy that exists between the military and other security agencies in the state.

“She said General Aminu has truly been very supportive of NDLEA operations, which has led to significant successes achieved by the agency.

“Odili said this was not the first time such large quantity of Cannabis Sativa was intercepted by the military and handed over to the agency.
