Ahead of the rally by the supporters of the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, most known as Obi-Datti, scheduled to hold on 1st October 2022 in Lagos, the Lagos State Police Command has mobilised it’s Rapid Response Squad (RRS), to patrol around the state.

Wakadaily reports that the Federal High Court sitting in Lagos has ordered the Labour Party and its supporters not to meet at the Lekki toll gate for its #Obidatti23 forward Ever rally.

The judge however said while Obi’s supporters cannot stop at the Lekki toll gate, they can pass through the venue to access Falomo Bridge and other venues at which the rally plans to meet.

The court also ordered the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba, and the Lagos State Police Commissioner, Abiodun Alabi, to ensure compliance with the order.”

The rally will hold in Lekki, Ikeja, Surulere and Festac Town in Lagos on Saturday, 1st October, which is also independence Day.

In the light of this, the police commissioner Abiodun Alabi has ordered well armed RRS and Taskforce operatives to patrol around the metropolis in a show-of-force.

He wrote on it’s Facebook, “Lagos RRS, Task Force In Show of Force across the metropolis. This is in continuation of the routine convoy patrol of the metropolis as directed by the Lagos Commissioner of Police, CP Abiodun Alabi.

According to RRS Commander, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi, law abiding citizens are encouraged to go about their lawful businesses.”
