The Kaduna State Primary Health Development Agency reports that there have been no new cases of Lassa fever in the state in recent weeks.
Ibrahim Hamza-Ikara, the Director of Public Health, confirmed that there are no current cases of Lassa fever in the state and all suspected cases have been discharged from hospitals.
He reassured the public that the situation is being closely monitored and all necessary measures are in place to prevent the spread of the disease.
He added, “We have not recorded any Lassa fever cases for the past few weeks and all the remaining eight patients have been discharged.”
Hamza-Ikara highlighted that the state will continue its outreach efforts to educate residents on the importance of practicing good hygiene. He emphasized the need for proper food and environmental cleanliness to prevent the spread of diseases like Lassa fever.
