Ogun appoints new Customs boss

Comptroller James Ojo, has resumed at the command headquarters, idiroko, as the newly deployed Controller of Ogun 1 Area Command of Nigeria Customs Services.

Ojo, warned those who promised to continually sabotage the economy and security of the country to either have a change of heart or be dealt with.

Also speaking, Comptroller Ahmadu Shuaibu, said Ojo sought the support of the operatives of the NCS as well as other stakeholders across the state for a successful tenure.

He lauded the outgoing Comptroller of the Command who has just been deployed to the Federal Operations Unit, Zone B Kaduna, promising to build on the success achieved in stemming the tide of smuggling activities and other border crimes in the state.

Ojo said, “Let me use this opportunity to solicit the unflinching support and cooperation of members of the management team and the entire officers and men of Ogun I Command, and our esteemed stakeholders across the border.

“According to the wise saying, “a tree can not make a forest”. I appreciate teamwork and my door is widely open for consultation.

As we witness this transition today, let us reaffirm our collective commitment to the ideals and objectives that define our Command.

Let us pledge to work hand in hand, fostering teamwork, communication, and collaboration at every turn.

“Together, we will overcome challenges, seize opportunities, and continue to uphold the standards of excellence for which the Ogun 1 Area Command is renowned”

Also, the outgoing Comptroller thanked the officers of the command as well as the traditional rulers, the youths, and other stakeholders who supported him and made his tour of Ogun State to be memorable and worthwhile.

He listed increased revenue generation and enhanced anti-smuggling exploits with minimum to zero casualties among other values added to the command during his tenure.

Shuaibu, called on officers of the command and the residents of the state to support the new Area Controller to sustain the command’s performance tempo.
