Ogun govt promises civil servants adequate welfare package

Governor of Ogun State Dapo Abiodun declared yesterday that his administration would keep up its commitment to the public sector by making sure that workers have access to sufficient tools for their jobs.

This was said by Governor Abiodun at the Executive Chambers of the Governor’s Office, Oke-Mosan Abeokuta, during the swearing-in of Mr. Kehinde Onasanya, who was recently appointed Head of Service.

Governor Abiodun stated that his administration would continue to be dedicated to both the service and the advancement of humanity, pointing out that Mr. Onasanya’s appointment represents a call to greater service.

He believes that the civil service is the foundation, the force behind the policies, and the link that links the aspirations of the populace with the government’s activities.

“As you are all very aware, civil service is the bedrock of our administration, the engine that drives our policies and the bridge that connects the aspiration of the people with the actions of the government.

“It plays a crucial role in ensuring effective governance, effective service delivery, and the implementation of government programmes and initiatives.

“As an administration that understands and acknowledges the role of the civil service, we remain guided by the principles of merit, character, competence and capability in the appointment of top civil servants,” he said.

“Let me also use this opportunity to assure all our great workers of Ogun State that our administration will never renege on our promises, we will continue to fulfil all our promises made.’’

During his speech, Mr. Onasanya expressed his gratitude to the governor for being a man of equality and fairness and guaranteed that his government will continue to get assistance from the civil service under his direction.

He urged state employees to sign up for the Ogun State Health Insurance Scheme and pledged to work toward enhancing the program.
