Abdulrasheed Opeyemi, the personal assistant of Nigerian rapper Oladipupo Oladimeji, better known as Oladips, has opened up on the issue surrounding the reported death of the rapper.
Opeyemi said Oladips actually died for three days before he came back to life and by then, his manager had already shared the news of his death.
Wakadaily reported how the singer made headlines on Tuesday, 14 November following reports of his death after battling an ailment for over two years.
The statement released by the management attracted a lot of comments as fans took to the comment section of the post to mourn the singer.
However, some of his associates, including rapper Qdot shared a picture of Oladips the following day revealing that the rapper was very much alive.
Angered by the development, Oladips took to his Instagram stories to slammed his colleague, Qdot, for rushing to announce that he is alive after death report. He further accused Qdot of seeking attention by prematurely asserting his well-being during a challenging time.
Speaking in an interview with the Punch on Monday, Opeyemi said: “I don’t know how to say this. It was a misinterpretation with the manager who has access to Oladips’ page. We all thought he was dead because he was not breathing until the third day when he was revived. By then, the manager had already shared the story.
“Even I could not reach him until the third day.”
When asked where the rapper was for the three days, Abdulrasheed responded, ”He was with his family.”
He added that Oladips has since sacked the manager, whose identity is still unknown.
“You are speaking with the right person in the label. The manager who shared the story has since been sacked. Oladips will soon address everyone on the issue.”
Recall that the rapper established his own record label ‘Dipsciples Music’, after leaving the LRR/Edge Records in 2019, owned by Nigerian rapper Remilekun Safaru, aka Reminisce.
