The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, in Osun State (NSCDC), paraded a man identified as Bola Awolumate, for advance fee fraud, obtaining money by false pretence of assisting his victims to obtain travelling visas to Norway and Saudi Arabia.
According to a statement by the Command spokesperson, Atanda Olabisi, The 40-year-old suspect was arrested by four members of the public on Monday, July 25, 2022. The suspect later reneged on the promises to procure visas and get jobs for the victims.
The statement read, “The suspect Awolumate Bola confessed to impersonating a Nigerian Immigration Officer under the pretext of which he collected the sum of five hundred and seventy thousand naira (N570, 000) from the four complainants with a promise to secure visa to Norway and Saudi Arabia.
Atanda also stated that the Osun NSCDC Commandant, Sunday Agboola, revealed that the next step is to charge the case to court where his fate will be determined.”
