Peter Obi visits Benue, donates N5m to flood Victims

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), has on Thursday visited Benue state, to empathise the victims of the devastating Floods.

The former governor of Anambra state, “had earlier suspended his presidential campaigns for the 2023 general election, his decision is coming on the plight of citizens who were affected by the flood disaster across the country.

Obi made this known when he visitied the governor of Benue state, Samuel Ortom, on Wednesday. He, however, called on other presidential candidates, to come together and sympathise with victims, citing that if candidates can buy their forms for millions of naira, they should be able to render helps to the victims. He added that his not an ice cream seller, which is trying to impress people.”

On today’s visit, at Daudu IDP camp in Benue, Obi was seen in a canoe boat while addressing the audience, he said “I will start with the little way I can, with the sum of N5 million naira for today, to support the victim, adding that he will continue to support them. He further urged the people to remain prayerful to God, that God would ensure they return to their houses as soon as possible.”
