Plateau govt launches new 22-sitter buses for Abuja route

In an effort to promote economic activity and mobility, Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has unveiled 22 modern transport buses fitted with cutting-edge tracking systems for passenger safety and location monitoring. The buses will also offer commuters traveling between Jos and Abuja dependable and comfortable modes of transportation.

This was said by the governor at the bus unveiling ceremony in Jos, where he also reiterated the administration’s steadfast dedication to offering the people of the state effective and efficient logistics solutions.

The launch of a mobile booking app, he continued, is a step forward in utilizing digital technology to improve customer experience and expedite the booking procedure.

“This Rebirth Project reflects our government’s recognition of the importance of modernizing and improving transportation infrastructure in Plateau State.

“I implore the people of Plateau State to seize this opportunity and make good use of these buses which are designed to enhance passengers’ safety and security,” Mutfwang added

In his remarks, Jatau Gyang Davou, the commissioner of transportation, stated that they had implemented strategies to turn transportation into a revenue-generating industry, similar to Lagos and other federation states.

He further said, the rail transit system will go into operation as soon as the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) constraints are cleared.

According to Samuel Gwot, general manager of Plateau Express Service Limited (PESL), customers now have two ways to get around since the transportation system was introduced. Our Gida Gida Express Coaster Bus is available for just N5,000. Daily departures between Jos and Abuja at noon will be made by this 25-seater bus.

“The second option is the air-conditioned Toyota Sienna that operates between 6 am and 4 pm for N9,000. We have well-trained drivers, our vehicles have security features and speed limiters, improved customer experience, and a mobile App.”

With regard to Plateau Riders Services Limited, Tin City Metro Services Limited, Plateau Express Logistics Limited, Plateau Express Learning Hub Limited, and Plateau Automobile Limited, Gwot recognized having established five new revenue streams.
