Popular Nollywood actress and producer, Funke Akindele regardless of her being at the top in the entertainment industry ,is pleading on God to bless the work’s of her hands.
The actress had taken to her Instagram page to share a photo of her going to a movie location as she penned a heartfelt prayer to God. She pleaded that God should bless her hustle,so she would not work in vain.
She wrote:
“Oh Lord!! Please bless my hustle!! Mi o ni se lasan lagbara Olorun!! AMEN!! Have a fabulous day guys”.
Some of her colleagues like Destiny Etiko, Tijani Adekola, Eniola Ajao, Paschaline Alex, Uzee Usman, and more trailed her comment section to affirm Amen to her wishes.
Funke Akindele is currently the Queen of Box office movies in Africa. Her last movie, A Tr!be Called Judah, premiered in cinemas in December 2023 and broke a box office record ranging from 21 days of its release. This made it the first Nollywood film to gross N1bn.
The movie’s success went beyond the actress’ previous films Battle on Buka Street (N668.4m) and Omo Ghetto (N636.1m), which currently sit as the second and third highest-grossing films at the Nigerian box office, respectively.
Her surpassing success had landed her a made brand-new car at her event.
Sometime Last month, she got the Silverbird Lifetime Achievement Award, which she dedicated to her fans and family.
Consequently two weeks ago, the actress announced her new film, Everybody Loves Jenifa, set for release this December. The actress, however, did not give more details about the movie, stating if it will be in cinemas first or on streaming platforms.
Everybody Loves Jenifa may not be unconnected to the comedy franchise Jenifa, which metamorphosed into The Return of Jenifa, and a TV series, Jenifa’s Diary.
Recall that sometime Last year, Funke Akindele, as well as Mo Abudu, and Ayo Makun were on the list of topmost movie producers in the country.
In a list drafted out by Top Charts Africa, Mo Abudu, Funke Akindele, and Ayo Makun were said to have grossed over N1 billion in entertainment.
