President Tinubu support groups distribute 50,000 food packs

The President Tinubu youth support groups is prepared for the conclusion of the distribution of 50,000 family food packs to less privileged across the country during this holy month of Ramadan.

It was said in a statement on Monday, that these groups were supported by ministers and special advisers of the president, to help the vulnerable families, across Nigeria during the holy month of Ramadan.

It was noted that the distribution of free family food boxes to 50,000 vulnerable families in the country was set to conclude on Tuesday, April 9, 2024.

It partly read, “Each family food box contains dry food items that include rice, semolina, tomato paste and other food supplies to feed a family for five days. The distribution to families across Nigeria in the past three weeks has been carried out through various community-focused outreaches. The Family Food Box Distribution Initiative is scheduled to end across all the geopolitical regions in Nigeria this week.

“The Patron of the City Boy Movement, Seyi Tinubu, in his comments, thanked the supporters, volunteers, and partners for their valuable contributions to the success of the programme. He expressed his appreciation to all the private sector partners who donated various items and the volunteers drawn from every section of the country, regardless of creed, tribe, and religion, who showed that the spirit of community and caring for one another is still strong and alive in Nigeria. He prayed for the Almighty to bless and reward everyone participating in this programme.”

The Federal Government has announced Tuesday and Wednesday,  April 9 and 10 , 2024 as public holidays, to mark the end of the Ramadan celebration.

This was revealed in a statement by the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, on Sunday with the ministry’s permanent secretary, Aishetu Ndayako.

However, the minister congratulated all Muslims for the successful ending of the fasting in the holy month of Ramadan.
