RDF donates uniform, pads others to FCT school for the blind

The FCT school for the blind, Jabi were offered educational and sanitary items by Rubbies Development Foundation, RDF, a non-governmental organization.

The items include; walking canes, pads, tissue papers, braille, uniform, detergents, stalos and slates.

Lilian Apket, the founder/CEO of the foundation, who spoke during the donations in Abuja said the gesture was part of the NGO’s commitment to encourage learning for children with special needs.

The founder ensure that children with disabilities are inspired to study with the possibility of making a great and positive impact in the society.

Apket went further to say “we have been doing this in the past through our  ‘Back to School Education Support for Young persons with Disabilities’ and we’re highly committed to sustaining this initiative.

“we’re focused on equipping the vulnerable young girls and boys with relevant knowledge and skills to enable them advance their rights and attain their full potential. For me, it is a way of giving back to society.”

The CEO called on all Nigerians and government at all levels to be accurate in addressing the needs of PWDs.

While pledging to support the young affected persons, she spoke against discrimination against the PWDs, and said the affected persons are part and parcel of the society and therefore must be treated accordingly with equal rights.
