Sanwo-Olu urges residents to make Lagos accommodating for corp members

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has urged the populace to create a welcoming atmosphere for the recently assigned corps members.

On Tuesday, at the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) temporary orientation camp in Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos, during the closing ceremony of the 2024 Batch A, Stream II orientation, Sanwo-Olu made the announcement.

Additionally, he encouraged the corps members to ensure that their service year had a significant influence on Lagos State’s and Nigeria’s overall social-economic and political growth.

“I implore you to accept your posting to any part of Lagos and see it as an opportunity to participate in the community development programmes, impact your host community and leave indelible legacies.

“These, your predecessors did in the areas of healthcare delivery system, educational services, social services amongst others, just as your services may be needed in the aforementioned.”

The Lagos State Ministry of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations’ director of general service, Mr. Ibukun Dosunmu, represented Sanwo-Olu in declaring that the state government would keep recognizing and rewarding exceptional corps members at the conclusion of the service year.

In a statement, Mrs. Yetunde Baderinwa, state coordinator for NYSC Lagos, stated that the corps members had received a variety of trainings throughout the orientation course to get them ready for the work that lay ahead.

In their places of assignment, Baderinwa advised the corps members to be good representatives of the program, their families, and their communities.
