Shettima attends 2024 US-Africa Business Summit

On Sunday night, Vice President Kashim Shettima left Abuja for Dallas, Texas, to represent President Bola Tinubu at the US-Africa Business Summit in 2024.

The Business Council on Africa is hosting the meeting.

This was disclosed in a statement issued on Sunday by Stanley Nkwocha, the Senior Special Assistant to the Vice President on Media and Communications, which read, “VP Shettima departs Abuja to Represent President Tinubu at 2024 US-Africa Business Summit in the United States.”

“The Vice President will join other political and business leaders across Africa, the United States of America and beyond for the summit featuring high-level dialogues, networking business sessions and the plenary, all scheduled for the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas,” said Nkwocha.

The presidents of Liberia, Malawi, Angola, Mokgweetsi E. K. Masisi of the Republic of Botswana, José Maria Neves of Cabo Verde, and the deputy prime minister of the Kingdom of Lesotho, Nthomeng Majara, are among the African leaders anticipated at the summit.

Shettima is scheduled to give a speech at the Roundtable on African Infrastructure Investment, emphasizing impact and returns, in addition to the summit plenary.

Additionally, he will be speaking on a high-level panel discussing agriculture with the theme of moving “from food insecurity to thriving agribusinesses.”

The Vice President will also chair a session aimed at promoting the “invest in Nigeria” initiative and give a speech at a plenary on Navigating Africa’s Energy Future.

The announcement stated that he is anticipated to attend other summit-related meetings and events.

After his commitments in the US, Shettima is anticipated to return home.
