According to a statement released by the Police Service Commission on Saturday, 171, 956 qualified candidates from the screening phase of the ongoing police recruitment process are now being invited to move on to the computer-based tests phase of the process.
In all 36 states of the Federation as well as the Federal Capital Territory, the screening is set for Tuesday, March 5, 2024, and Wednesday, March 6, 2024.
In addition, the Commission has pledged to guarantee that the recruiting process is merit-based at all phases, according to a statement from her spokesperson Ikechukwu Ani.
“Applicants are also advised to visit the recruitment portal; apply.policerecruitment.gov to confirm their status after the screening exercise and if successful also confirm the specific time and date for their Computer based test.
“Applicants for the tests are expected to come with their CBT slip to be generated when they visit the recruitment portal where the list of successful candidates have been published with clear information on what they are expected to print.
“Chairman of the Commission, Dr. Solomon Arase, (IGP Rtd) reiterated the Commission’s resolve to ensure that the exercise is merit based and in line with the Federal Character Commission requirements of equal representation”.
Dr. Arase expressed gratitude to the Police Recruitment Board for their unwavering dedication to this national responsibility and assured them that the Commission would always be indebted to them.
He said the country will have access to more police personnel after the exercise is complete to help combat crime and criminality there and reclaim the ungoverned areas all around the nation.
He urged on all Nigerians to help the government in the fight against terror and insurgency, promising that it would not be left to its own devices.
In the meantime, the Commission will shortly publish a date for the practical examinations that the 43,778 applicants from the specialists cadre who passed the screening process are anticipated to undergo.
