American Singer Ne-yo doubles on his statement on parents transitioning minors as he gets backlash for his comment.
Ne-yo took to his Instagram story to clear the air on his position and clarify his statement, stating that he wanted people to hear from the horses mouth.
He said, “from the horse’s mouth and not the publicist’s computer”.
“First and foremost, I did not apologize for having an opinion on this matter. I am a 43-year-old heterosexual man raising five boys and two girls, okay? That’s my reality. If my opinion offended somebody, yeah, sure, I apologize for you being offended because that wasn’t my intention. My intention is never to offend anybody.”
He went further to remind his viewers that everyone is entitled to their opinion, he also stated that he will be educating himself more on the subject matter, but he will not be convinced that allowing kids to change their gender is morally okay.
“However, I’m entitled to feel how I feel. I am absolutely entitled to feel how I feel the same way you are entitled to feel how you feel. I didn’t ask anybody to agree, with me, I was asked a question and I answered the damn question. I have no beef with the LGBTQIA+ community…however, I would never be okay with allowing a child to make a decision that detrimental to their life”.
This is coming after the singer started getting backlash over his controversial opinion in an interview with VLAD TV on Sunday, August 6, 2023. Neyo questioned why parents will allow their kids makes a life-changing decision like gender transition that is detrimental to their life.
