After the completion of her primary and secondary education, she attended the University of Lagos and graduated with a degree in Theatre Arts.
In addition, she earned a diploma in business and industrial law from UNILAG. She decided to pursue the law course at her mother’s insistence, as her mother had aspirations for her to become a singer.
Marital Status
Damasus got married for the first time when she was 21 years old in 1999 to Jaiye Aboderin. They had two daughters together before Jaiye sadly passed away in 2004. She then remarried in 2007 to Emeka Nzeribe, but their marriage only lasted for seven months before they decided to get divorced. In 2011, she got involved with a famous Nollywood producer and director named Daniel Ademinokan, but they separated in 2020 and eventually got divorced.
Career
She started her acting career in 1992 with the movie “Abused.” However, it was her second film, “Breaking Point,” that made her extremely popular in Nigeria. She received nominations for the African Movie Academy Award in 2006, 2008, and 2009 for her roles in “Behind Closed Doors,” “Widow,” and “State of the Heart” respectively.
She has acted in more than 70 movies and is well-known in the Nigerian film industry.
