Early Life & Education
Sugarboy was born on 15th April 1992 in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state but he was raised in the area of Ajegunle in Lagos state southwestern part of Nigeria.
He originated hails from the Ikono local government area in Akwa Ibom state, the south southern part of Nigeria.
He attended the University of Port Harcourt where he kicked out his music dream career.
Career
Sugarboy was influenced by the likes of musical legends Bob Marley, Gregory Isaac, and Majek Fashek.
Sugarboy started having a passion for music at the age of 14 while being supported by his father who had all the albums of the late 70s and 90s.
He began his music career professionally in 2010 when he was first featured by the veteran hip hop force, Modenine in his hit single “BADMAN”.
In 2012, he came across the CEO of G-Worldwide entertainment, Emperor Geezy but was officially signed to the label in 2015 after which he was featured in DJ Shabsy’s collaboration with Kiss Daniel on the single “RABA”.
Sugarboy was well known when he released a party cracker “Holla Holla” and then followed it up with another party starter “Legalize” and a mid-tempo tune “Double”.
He dropped his official album “Believe” under the imprint in 2017 and released a video to one of his favorite tracks in the album titled “Jofunmi”.
