Following the swift intervention of the Federal Government into the rehabilitation of the Ikorodu-Imota-Itoikin-Epe road, Lagos based businessman, Dr. Oladega Adebogun has expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu for his decisive policies on Infrastructure in the county.
This was revealed on Wednesday by Mr Abimbola Olulesi, the Director, of Public Relations, Caleb University.
Adebogun said that the road had been ranked as one of the worst road in Nigeria and had become an albatross to past successive administrations.
Adebogun affirmed that the president, by the singular action, had renewed the hope of residents and commuters in the community, “who had virtually lost hope that the road, which was in a very deplorable condition, will ever be repaired,”
He said that the road before the rehabilitation, ranked among the worst roads not just in Lagos state but in the whole nation.
“The road usually gets abandoned during the rainy season and had posed a recurrent nightmare to residents and commuters along the axis from Ikorodu through Imota to Itoikin to Epe. It was a particularly harrowing commute for road users during vacation and festive periods,” he said.
He added that the rehabilitation of the road is a positive pointer and attestation to the fact that many more development projects promised by the people-oriented, focused, and egalitarian government of President Tinubu would be completed and delivered.
He therefore appealed to all well-meaning Nigerians to put aside mundane differences and join hands with the government for the full realixation of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He said, Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has personally visited to assess the deplorable condition of the road early this year while Senator Tokunbo Abiru had moved a motion in 2021 on the floor of the Nigerian Senate to further bridge the infrastructure gap and enhance economic growth in the country.
The Ikorodu-Imota-Itoikin-Epe road, which is one of the alternative roads leading to the Lekki Deep Seaport, was completed earlier this year making access to the ports easier.
