Tinubu to attend Senegal’s President-elect inauguration on Tuesday

On Tuesday, April 2, 2024, President Bola Tinubu will leave Abuja for Dakar, Senegal, to witness the inauguration of Bassirou Diomaye Faye, the incoming president of Senegal.

The president’s visit is being sponsored by the Republic of Senegal, according to a statement from Chief Ajuri Ngelale, Special Advisor to the President on Media and Publicity.

According to the statement, “President Tinubu, who is the Chairman of ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government, will join other regional leaders to witness the inauguration at Diamniadio Exhibition Centre on Tuesday.”

Senior government officials, including Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, are scheduled to travel with the President.

Following the inauguration, President Tinubu is anticipated to return to Nigeria.
