Nollywood actor and director Tobi Makinde has expressed his gratitude towards his mentor, Funke Akindele, as he receives a significant recognition among other Nollywood celebrities.

Tobi Makinde has been nominated alongside other up-and-coming Nollywood stars as actors to watch out for in 2024.

According to Top Charts Africa, Tobi Makinde, also known as Shinene or Tinini, is highly skilled, talented, and dedicated.

Makinde expressed gratitude to the writer for making his knowledge known to the public, and also thanked Funke Akindele for providing him with a platform to gain visibility and acknowledgement.

In late 2023, there were reports circulating that Funke Akindele and Tobi Makinde were no longer on good terms because Funke was allegedly preventing Tobi from pursuing other opportunities.

This news received mixed reactions, as people noticed that the two had not been interacting playfully on each other’s social media pages for a while. However, recently Tobi Makinde praised Funke Akindele publicly.

Makinde denied the rumors that Funke mistreats her employees, saying that he wouldn’t be where he is today without her love, training, and guidance.

He spoke from personal experience, stating that the actress has been very kind to him and he will always remember her love for him.
