Career
At the age of seven, he entered the acting scene with his first film “Silenced,” which was produced by Ralph Nwadike and directed by Tunji Bamishigbin. By the time he turned thirteen, he had already secured a leading role in the popular TV series “Kamson N Neighbors.” He also appeared in other notable projects like Industreet and My Siblings and I. In 2015, he took on the role of production manager for Scene One Productions. It was his portrayal of ‘Timini’ in Jenifa’s Diary that truly brought him recognition. In 2023, he co-directed the highly successful film Battle on Buka Street, which became one of Nollywood’s highest-grossing movies. Furthermore, in 2023, he played the character ‘Shina Judah’ in A Tribe Called Judah.
Education
Tobi Makinde obtained his elementary education at Odofa Children’s Home in Ogun State and his high school education at Supreme Pillars College in Badagry, Lagos State. In 2012, he graduated from the University of Lagos with a Bachelor’s degree in Theatre Arts. Four years later, in 2016, he completed his Master’s degree in Theatre Arts from the same university.
