Union Bank promotes female inclusion

The appeals for a fair and inclusive society free from prejudice, stereotyping, and discrimination especially against women have been reaffirmed by Union Bank of Nigeria.

During the celebration of the 2024 International Women’s Day, the bank’s chief executive officer, Yetunde Oni, made this declaration.

The global campaign entitled for this year’s was #InspireInclusion.

The event, tagged ‘Ability Over Gender’, was an avenue to showcase its commitment to gender inclusivity and promotion of female excellence and competence across different fields of endeavour, as read in her statement.

In her keynote speech, Oni reiterated the banking institution’s dedication to persistently advocate for the growth of women and other marginalized communities, while striving for their acknowledgement and participation in traditionally exclusive arenas.

Olufunmilola Aluko, Chief Brand & Marketing Officer at Union Bank, spoke outside the ceremony saying, “Union Banks at its core, stands for equal representation and acknowledgement of the incredible skills and ability women bring to the table notwithstanding the industry or enterprise they engage in.

The message behind this year’s theme is a call for everyone to strive for a fair, equitable world where individuals are judged and assessed on the depth of their capability rather than their biological makeup.”
