We love you, no matter what’ – Okocha tells Alex Iwobi amid cyberbullying

Legendary footballer, Jay Jay Okocha has taken to social media to defend his nephew, Alex Iwobi following the trolling by Nigerians.

The 27-year-old came under intense cyberbullying following Nigeria’s loss to Ivory Coast in the African Cup of Nations final match, netizens expressed their anger by slamming him for playing a bad game.

Following the hateful comments, Iwobi deleted all the pictures on his Instagram page leaving just one video while the comment section remains locked. There’s rumour that he might retire.

Taking to his Instagram page on Tuesday, Okocha assured his nephew that they keep moving regardless of what people will say.

He wrote, “I pray for my country Nigeria and the people that can only hate and see nothing good in others, when effort counts for nothing, treat people the way you want them to treat you, all we have is this life is each other.

We love you #alexanderiwobi and we keep going no matter what they say, the Lord is good all the time and we trust that his will be done in our lives amen.”
