Nigerian award-winning singer, Ayodeji Balogun popularly known as Wizkid, has been thrown into mourning following the sudden death of his previous mother.
The Grammy-winning Afrobeat star lost his mum, Mrs Jane Dolapo Balogun, at about 1.30 am, Friday, August 18, 2023.
Wizkid’s longtime manager, Sunday Are, who confirmed the sad news to the Punch, said Mrs Balogun died in the early hours of Friday.
“Yes, she died this morning, at about 1.30 am,” Sunday Aaare said.
Mrs Balogun was blessed with two other children, Yetunde Balogun and Lade Balogun.
Mourning his mother, Wizkid also shared a picture of his late mum via his Instagram story accompanied with an emoji, without any caption. Although the singer has not made any official statement regarding the sad incident.
