Nigerian music sensation Wizkid appears to have caused controversy by indirectly slamming his competitor, Davido.
On the popular social media platform Twitter, now referred to as X, Wizkid advised the public to strive for smart work in order to avoid struggling foolishly.
“Work smart make u no go dey hustle like fool”.
This comes after Davido recently introduced his own meme coin called $Davido.
In his third venture into the world of cryptocurrency, Davido supported and promoted another crypto token called “Timeless Davido” or $DAVIDO on Wednesday night.
Although it was unclear how the token would be used, it seemed to be associated with an unknown website and telegram group.
Despite this, the token was launched on the Solana blockchain and quickly gained attention among other lesser-known crypto tokens.
However, the excitement was short-lived. By Thursday morning, the value of $Davido had dropped by 90%, and according to DEX screener, the coin’s liquidity was only $291,000 at the time of this report.
This is not the first time the singer has dabbled in cryptocurrency. In November 2021, he launched $echoke on the Binance Smart Chain, aiming to provide access to giveaways, NFTs, festivals, exclusive merchandise, and other entertainment, media, and hospitality benefits. However, this project was soon forgotten.
He also endorsed Racksterli, a fraudulent scheme accused of scamming users out of ₦1 billion, on YouTube, which resulted in criticism and calls for him to use his influence more responsibly.
Last month, there was a lot of buzz on social media when Davido and Wizkid got into a heated exchange online.
Wizkid had provoked Davido by posting a humiliating video of Davido begging a woman, presumably for sex.
He shared the video on the internet while interacting with his fans who were pressuring him to release new music, and he urged them to beg him like Davido did.
In response, Davido blast Wizkid for being a sick individual and accused him of being abusive towards women.
He also pleaded with Wizkid to react to his comments, and Wizkid did so by using the same embarrassing video, which Davido ruthlessly attacked him for.
