Nigerian Afropop singer, Iyanya Onoyom Mbuk, has opened up on how his ex Ghanaian lover, Yvonne Nelson allegations almost cost his current relationship.

In June, award-winning actress, Nelson made headlines following her memoir, where she detailed her affair with singer Sarkodie, and also how she found out her ex-boyfriend, Iyanya was cheating on her with actress, Tonto Dikeh.

In chapter 10 of the book titled “Iyanya and My Love Life”,  released on Sunday, June 18, 2023, Yvonne Nelson said she thought the singer’s gesture of tattooing her initials “YN” on his waist and giving her a shoutout on his hit song ‘Ur Waist’ was an assurance that they could be together forever.

In the wake of the ‘allegation,’ Iyanya vowed to share his side of the story but made a U-turn days later.

However, in a recent interview on the latest episode of Tea With Tay podcast hosted by actor Temisan Emmanuel Ahwieh, Iyanya revealed how the allegations nearly effected his current relationship with his lover.

He said: That stuff (Yvonne Nelson’s allegations) is crazy, bro. That stuff almost made me lose a relationship. A current relationship.

Before this book (Yvonne Nelson’s memoir) I was talking to one innocent girl who is not famous but immediately that book came out, everything became shaky. The girl was feeling like, ‘Omo, this guy, have you changed? Are you sure you won’t do me the same?”
