Popular Nigerian musician Omoniyi Temidayo Raphael, who is professionally known as Zlatan Ibile, has reflected on his modest origins.
Zlatan recently took to Instagram to share a picture of a car he had won as a prize before achieving fame, courtesy of Airtel One Mic.
Expressing gratitude for the progress and advancement in his career over the past decade, the singer sincerely thanked his peers at Moshoof Abiola Polytechnic, Mapoly.
On this special day, which commemorates his 10 years of success, he expressed gratitude to all the individuals who played a role in his journey to fame.
“10 years ago, there was no Zlatan Ibile.
All there was, was an aspiring footballer.
Mapoly students believed in me by ensuring I won this contest!
From then, everything changed from football to music.
I did not have 2 personal songs let alone a hit until 2017 with Baddo.
Thank you to every Mapoly student who stood by me. Thank you Day 1 Zlatanovaz. Can’t believe today makes it exactly 10 years already… And we’re still going strong.
ZTTW!”
This post received wonderful responses regarding how Zlatan’s story has inspired many people to pursue their own paths.

Remember that in 2019, Zlatan Ibile was taken into custody by the Economic And Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) right after his friend and associate Naira Marley was arrested by the same agency.
Zlatan’s arrest was connected to his endorsement of Naira Marley, who had recently made a statement suggesting that internet fraud was not a criminal act.
Additionally, both artists released a song that ridiculed the public’s perception of them as “Yahoo boys,” which piqued the EFCC’s interest in their lifestyles.
