2023 Election: Ebonyi people won’t vote for Labour Party says Umahi

The Ebonyi State Governor, David Umahi, said the people of Ebonyi will not vote for the Labour Party in the forthcoming presidential general election.

The Governor spoke in a meeting with the representatives of Traditional rulers, Town Union President and the Christian Association of Nigeria, Ebonyi State chapter, at the Government House, Centenary City Abakaliki.

Umahi said he owed nobody an apology for taking such a stance. According to him, the present APC leadership in the country has done a lot for the state and challenged any State who has received any uplifting from Labour Party to go ahead and vote for it.

He further said,  “Our Party in Ebonyi State is not Labour Party. We will vote for APC, the party that is doing all these things for us. “Any State that Labour Party has helped, vote for it. Our votes belong to APC.”

Umahi, who urged Ebonyi people to only vote for the APC, said, “the votes of the state only belong to the ruling APC.”

“We will not vote for Labour Party, we will only vote for APC. Our vote is for APC and not for LP. Our agenda is Ebonyi agenda. We will vote for our Presidential candidate in the person of Tinubu,” he said.

Governor Umahi scored 38 votes at the APC Presidential primaries in Ebonyi State, which had a total of 39 delegates.
