Amaarae was born on July 4, 1994, to Ghanaian parents in the Bronx, New York. Although she originally hails from Accra, Ghana western part of Africa.
She was raised both in Atlanta and Accra, the capital city of Ghana, she is the eldest among her siblings.
Amaarae had her education at Agnes Scott College, Georgia where she graduated with a Bachelor Of Arts degree in English Literature.
Amaarae Musical Career
Amaarae started her musical career journey at the early age of 13, she began by composing a freestyle and recording songs in the nearest local studios.
Her first song titled “Same Shanga” was written by her as she was able to compose it.
Her single gained major recognition after Apple Music named her as their Africa’s Favorite New Artist in April 2018 and that same year also became Apple Music Beats 1 Featured Artiste for her debut project Passionfruit Summers.
In 2017, she founded her own record label named Golden Child LLC and she releases another hit song titled” Passionfruit Summers” which tops many charts.
In 2021, She was featured in the track “Bling” out of Blaqbonez’s debut studio Album “Sex Over Love”.
