Ogechi Shirley Igwe was born on April 2, 1988, to Mr. and Mrs. Igwe and she is a native of Imo State, a Southeastern part of Nigeria.

She lost her mother when she was barely 13 years of age while her father died in 2014. According to reports, both parents had suffered from diabetes.

Ogechi Shirley completed her secondary education at Federal Government Girls College, Owerri, and also obtained a degree in Mass Communication from Imo State University.
