Imo Commissioner of Police positions officers for peaceful Protect

Imo state Police Commissioner, Danjuma Aboki, has stationed officers and men of the command across the state to prevent the protest from the Nigeria Labour Congress from being snatched by criminals.

The affiliate union members and the NLC had announced planned protest over economic hardship nationwide.

Henry Okoye, the command’s spokesperson on a statement on Tuesday revealed that the essence of the deployment of the cops was to secure a peaceful  protest and not snatched by hoodlums.

He stated that the police is ready to prevent any sign of breakdown of the law and order as to deal mercilessly with those bad elements.

Okoye wrote, “Massive deployment of security operatives across the state to ensure that the ongoing NLC peaceful protest is not hijacked by criminally minded elements.

“The command remains committed to providing maximum security for all and sundry in the State while upholding the rule of law and respecting the rights of citizens”.

The NLC members have stride angrily of the street of Lagos State expressing their anger over the current economic hardship.

In conclusion to the decision of the 14 days ultimatum issued to the Federal Government to execute the measures against the widespread hardship of the county.
