Organization to setup youth campaign on security and development

Duke Alamboye, the national president of the Nigeria Youth Organization, has declared that the group plans to launch a nationwide campaign to inform young people about security and development in the nation.

Alamboye made this revelation during the National Stakeholders’ Meeting in Lagos State, via a statement made public on Sunday.

He went on to say that the advocacy would provide young people the resources they need to confront the nation’s present security issues.

Alamboye stated that in order to fully utilize the enormous potential of Nigerian youth and support the nation’s economic growth, the organization would partner with the Ministry of Youth and other pertinent government organizations.

He emphasized that a national framework would be formed and the state branch would undergo restructuring during his tenure in order to restore peace and confidence within the organization.

He said, “NYO will also play a major role in tackling the current security challenges the country is grappling with, explaining that the organisation plans to commence nationwide advocacy and sensitisation of youths on security and development across the country.

“We will begin to support the good policies of the government and go against ones that are not in conformity with the development of our country. After my tenure, there will be a standard and renewed organisation.

“In my tenure, we have had the responsibility to restructure the state organ. We will source for capable youths who can handle state executives and form the national structure. Most importantly, to regain the confidence and peace of our organisation.”

Olusegun Adeleye, National Secretary of the NYO Board of Trustee, stated that the organization is prepared to carry out social empowerment initiatives for young people in Nigeria.

“We have had meetings and have agreed that we will be organising a social empowerment programme. This administration will focus on renewed energy by reassuring the youth tremendously by creating an enabling environment for empowerment programs,” Adeleye said.
